Skid Training and Advanced Driving Course for Young People | | Young drivers are more at risk of being involved in an accident, in fact statistics reveal 1 in 5 of young drivers crash in their first year of driving. Research shows the reasons for this are: Lack of experience - Poor risk perception
- Poor driving attitude
- Peer pressure
Our advanced courses, aimed at young people who have passed their driving test, take the Pass Pluss Scheme and deliver it to a higher level. Overseen by Police Advanced Driving Instructors, the course is not only designed to enhance basic driving skills but to develop a positive driving attitude. More information | |
Crash Awareness Day | | A fast moving interactive modular day delivered in mainstream school. Designed to give messages around safety and responsible behaviour, the day involves the emergency services, magistrates from the area and Steer Clear's staff.
The day begins with a mock crash. The scene unfolds, witnesses panic, offenders run off and students are given a commentary as the emergency services deal with the incident and extracate a casualty. Students then rotate around a series of workshops which revolve around the incident. Workshops include Evidence gathering Forensic Science Arson, Hoax Calls and Road Traffic Collisions Basic First Aid Consequences of drug use and prison A mock court Victims of road crashes workshops

Designed to challenge attitudes to risk, the roadshows highlight the importance of informed decision making and the consequences of reckless behaviour. All our roadshows feature people who talk from the heart and include - Disabled crash/accident victims

Car Crime Workshops | Full modular days looking at the tragic consequences of car crime and illegal driving/riding. Students are invited to meet victims of crime and ex offenders who discuss the three main consequences death, injury and imprisonment. They will consider both long and short term effects and explore how a similar situation would impact upon their own lives. |
