On Thursday January 30th 1992 the weather was cold, damp and foggy. Steven had just popped out to put petrol in his newly purchased Mini Traveller and to go to the cash machine. He was planning to spend the evening "in front of the television". The petrol station was less than half a mile from the home that Steven was never to reach. A stolen car, driven by an 18 year old, with a 13 year old passenger, travelling at 80mph in a 30mph zone hit Steven's car head on. Steven died in the mangled remains of his car. Local people had to rescue the car thieves from the burning wreckage of the car they had stolen. Both survived - the 18 year old served only 13 months in youth custody and the 13 year old was never charged. Steven's mum Carole, dad Carroll, elder sister Heidi, younger sister Joanne and younger brother Jason are serving a life sentence of grief. CD Rom Contents
