Daniel was 18 when he was killed in a crash caused by drink driving in August 1995. After an evening at a party in a village near his home, he accepted a lift home with one of the people at the party. Daniel's friend Andrew also got in the car. Daniel was careful to ask the driver if he had been drinking - and was told the driver had only had one can. This was a lie.
Only five minutes after leaving the party, the car carrying Daniel and Andrew crashed into a public house and then into a lamp post. Andrew and the driver were injured but Daniel was killed instantly.
